WHY I COACH ONLY WOMEN?

I started as a Life Coach more than 15 years ago. During the early years I coached men, women, and couples with much success. During those years I did extensive studies in Jungian analysis and researched the field of Bio-reprogramming, which focused on emotional stress and its effects on human biology. About 8 years ago two events caused me to reassess my work’s impact on each client and how through them I might make a positive impact worldwide.

The first event was while I was on a Jungian trip to India and was introduced to the spiritual practices of Tantra. The philosophy of Tantra honors the feminine and allows women to manifest their goals and aspirations with the support of the masculine.

The second was when my ailing mother was confined to a nursing facility after hip replacement surgery. I was responsible for Mom’s health care and I spent many hours and days at her bedside. During those hours she gave me an extensive review of her life and what she thought most women of her generation experienced. She shared her hidden sufferings, the many denials to pursue her own goals and aspirations. Her information prompted me to talk with other female residents of the institution. I was shocked at what I discovered.

Many female residents expressed anger and disappointment because they had spent most of their lives in the service of others, at times thanklessly and without appreciation. I concluded that the masculine domination of the feminine in all aspects of their lives, with the exception of childbirth, was the normal cultural conditioning.

It was at that point that I decided to take an interest in the social, environmental, and cultural influences that impacted the lives of these women negatively. My curiosity and research led to my decision to coach only women over age 18 of all races, ethnicities, socioeconomic status, and backgrounds. My coaching philosophy is not traditional; it requires my prospective clients to be women who want more from life and are seeking to embody their unique purpose.

I named my approach to coaching the “Socratic Coaching Method.” Based on Socrates’ method of teaching through questions, it is a form of inquiry and discussion with my clients through asking and answering questions in order to stimulate critical thinking and illuminate ideas. You, the client, have all the answers to your questions. My job is to help you find those answers.

We enter a shared dialog about a question you, the client, propose. I, the counselor, leads by asking thought-provoking questions. You then actively engage by asking questions of your own. The discussion goes back and forth until you find the best answer to the question you posed.

In the years I have been working only with women, my clients have experienced life changing results and personal satisfaction. It would be my honor to work with you!
