RAISE THE BAR
WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a naturally-occurring constituent of industrial hemp (cannabis sativa) plants. It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis and is being scientifically investigated for numerous reasons. Most people have heard of a cannabinoid called THC, which is the ingredient in cannabis that gets users high. Unlike THC, CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid and does not cause a high.
IS CBD FROM HEMP DIFFERENT THAN CBD FROM MARIJUANA?
Both hemp and marijuana are from the same genus and species, cannabis sativa. The single most common difference between the plants is the characteristic of low THC of industrial hemp. However, CBD taken from hemp and marijuana is the exact same compound.
WILL CBD HELP MY CONDITION?
CBD OIL APPLICATIONS
You can hold a sublingual dose under the tongue for 30 to 60 seconds (recommended for fastest absorption), apply the oil topically to your skin (can be applied directly to a problem area or mixed with your favorite moisturizer), or blend the oil in a health-conscious smoothie. Further dosing instructions are included with specific products.
CBD OIL AND MASSAGE
CBD can be particularly helpful when used in tandem with my sessions. Two of the most frequent issues my clients encounter before massage sessions are pain and anxiety. I’ve found that when ingested 30 minutes before a session, CBD oil can help reduce anxiety. When a client anticipates discomfort during a session, CBD oil can be added to coconut or other massage oil as a means of desensitizing nerve endings, which, in turn, can help to reduce pain.
